Expanding the retail footprint on Manhattan's second-most prominent retail street, 540 Madison Avenue involved a two-story retail addition, functioning as a new building at the tower's base, as well as a renovated lobby and improved building identification.

The lobby was relocated to the side-street to maximize the retail frontage on Madison Avenue while also providing a more exclusive entry for the building's high-profile tenants. The wood-paneled entry lobby leads to a glass screen wall separating the elevator banks from the entry lobby, designed for privacy and seclusion. The space has a museum quality featuring a metal wall backdrop for a John Chamberlain sculpture.
