PROJECT / CULTURAL & URBAN SPACES

645 Fifth Avenue, Olympic Tower

From passageway to destination, MdeAS transformed Olympic Tower’s public space with a new, modern design. In creating a lighter, more welcoming environment our design includes disposing of the heavy awning in favor of an all-glass facade that is both sleek and inviting, which is inspired by the client’s goal for increased visibility and openness.

The lobby design features a collection of program elements - art, seating, landscape, circadian lighting, and a cafe - all coming together to create a dynamic public space.

Natural Materials + Innovative Solutions

The Carrara limestone was extracted from a quarry in Lisbon, Portugal and was selected for its warmth and understated, yet consistent veining. The wall achieved its dimensional appearance through a precise fabrication technique then meticulously sanded by hand to accomplish the delicate and intricate details.
