PENN 2 Honored as Overall Repositioning Category Winner at CTBUH 2025 International Conference

PENN 2 has been honored as the Overall Repositioning Category Winner at the CTBUH (Council of Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat) 2025 International Conference!.

The CTBUH Annual Awards program recognizes projects, practices, and individuals that have made extraordinary contributions to the advancement of tall buildings and the urban environment, and that achieve sustainability and human well-being at the highest and broadest level. The objective is to deliver a comprehensive and sophisticated view of these important buildings, spaces, actions, and technologies, while advocating for improvements in every aspect of their performance, especially those that have the greatest impact on the people who use them each day. This means that the buildings highlighted are often not the tallest in a given year, but represent the best qualities and innovations in the typology.

There were 5 projects that received an Award of Excellence in the Repositioning category and were invited to present at the International Conference. This year's conference "From the Ground Up: Tall Buildings and City-Making" explored the quality and porosity on the ground and first few floors of tall buildings, emphasizing how they create and frame great streets and the public realm. Based on the presentations, an Overall Winner was chosen from each category and announced at the Awards Ceremony at the conclusion of the conference. Mike Zaborski, Principal, presented PENN 2 on behalf of the entire design team. His presentation, "PENN 2: Rebuilding for People", explored the various ways PENN 2 was designed for people, including improved wayfinding, safety, public space, and work space, winning the Overall Category trophy.
